Kiki Health: The Organic and Natural Supplement Revolution
Kiki Health has become a go-to name in the world of organic and natural supplements. This innovative British brand offers nutritional supplements made from whole ingredients, or...
Moringa oleifera is the same active ingredient in two forms. The dried leaf powder is the most traditional and most economical — it can be mixed into drinks and allows more flexible consumption. The capsules offer superior convenience, a precise dose and avoid the characteristic earthy-vegetal taste of moringa powder. The nutritional density per gram is identical; capsules are preferable for people sensitive to strong flavours.
Moringa oleifera is one of the most nutrient-dense food plants known. Per 100 g of dried leaves: 9 times more protein than yoghurt, 17 times more calcium than milk, 25 times more iron than spinach, 10 times more vitamin A than carrots, 15 times more potassium than bananas. All these nutrients are in a single tropical plant that grows in arid zones of South Asia. It is a natural nutritional solution studied by the WHO to combat malnutrition.
Moringa is one of the most studied plants in ethnopharmacology. Studies show antidiabetic effects (reduction of fasting blood sugar in studies on type 2 diabetic patients), anti-inflammatory (inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokines), antioxidant (very high ORAC) and hypolipidaemic (LDL reduction). A 2019 meta-analysis in Phytotherapy Research confirmed effects on blood sugar in controlled trials. Larger-scale human studies are still needed to establish definitive clinical recommendations.
Follow the recommendations on the Kiki Health packaging. The common dose in dietary supplements is 2 to 4 g of moringa powder per day (equivalent quantity in capsules). In blood sugar studies, doses of 2 g to 8 g per day over 1 to 3 months have been used. Start with the minimum dose and increase gradually.
Moringa is rich in iron, magnesium, B vitamins and complete proteins (contains all 9 essential amino acids) — nutrients directly involved in cellular energy production. Iron deficiency is the leading cause of fatigue and anaemia worldwide, particularly in women. Moringa provides non-haem (plant) iron — combine it with vitamin C to double its absorption.
Moringa can lower blood sugar — an additive effect with antidiabetic medications (metformin, insulin) is possible, with risk of hypoglycaemia. If you are a treated diabetic, absolutely consult your doctor before using moringa capsules. Blood sugar monitoring is recommended when introducing moringa in this context.
Moringa is contraindicated during pregnancy at high doses (roots and bark can cause uterine contractions — leaves at dietary doses are considered safer but caution is advised). Breastfeeding: not recommended without medical advice. People on anticoagulants: possible interaction. Treated hypothyroidism: moringa may interfere with levothyroxine absorption.
