The butterfly pea flower, also known as the blue pea, is very popular in Ayurveda. It is packed with health-promoting compounds, including antioxidants (such as anthocyanin) and blue pigments, which allow it to naturally color food and beverages.

The butterfly pea flower (Clitoria ternatea) is a plant native to Southeast Asia commonly used in tea preparation. It is used in devotional ceremonies to represent protection, love, and peace. It is associated with the powerful Hindu goddess Aparajita (whose name means "the unconquered").

Butterfly Pea tea is also used for cosmetic purposes, contributing to the health of the skin , hair and eyes. Its high antioxidant content promotes the production of collagen , elastin and hyaluronic acid while combating the harmful effects of oxidative stress responsible for premature aging.
Its bioflavonoid content also promotes hair growth and shine and slows down hair whitening.
It is also effective in improving vision.

Finally, it relaxes the body and mind by soothing stress and muscles.

Its rich blue color is used as a natural dye. It is sometimes combined with water and an acidic ingredient, such as lemon, which changes the pH of the water, so that its color changes from blue to purple.
